Volunteer

There are many skills at several levels of commitment needed immediately. From a one-time, three-hour show up and help out at an event, to a six-month-long mentoring position that will change the life of a youth in our community.  If you do not find an area below that fits your skills and/or interest, fill out a volunteer form anyway, and let us know what you want to do to help.

Internships

We have many opportunities to gain the essential experience you need to add to your rèsumè and have the skills – and qualities – required to attract future employment opportunities. We need your help and experience to continue to change the lives of the youth in our community. These part-time, unpaid intern ships offer flexible hours, mentoring, and potential succession into paid positions.

Teen Business Challenge Event (Feb. 20-22, 2015)

Teen Business Challenge volunteers and coaches help us produce our annual teen entrepreneurship event. It takes a community to raise an entrepreneur, and we could not make this event great without the volunteers and coaches with tech, entrepreneurship, and educational backgrounds to help.

Technology Mentor

A technology mentor has the opportunity to work closely with Computer Mentors Group administrators and participants to guide high school students through meaningful education experiences.  The main project you will guide them through is creating a quality project for a community organization.  Students choose projects they are interested in that are either a website, video, or phone app that meets the community organization’s needs.

General Support

A general support volunteer is really the hands that get the programs off the ground.  These people help support Computer Mentors Group with essential tasks like being a representative at an internal or external event, administration assistance, clean-up, errands, and phone calls.

Speaker

Speakers bring the world to our students.  As a speaker, you tell your story.  Sometimes that is a story of achievement, and sometimes that achievement came through overcoming adversity.  This is a great opportunity to let our students know that there is hope, and that hard work pays off.
